National League - August 26


Player of the Day: Greg Luzinski was 4 for 6 with a home run and six RBI in the Phillies’ 14-5 romp over the Cincinnati Reds.

Pitcher of the Day: Rick Reuschel allowed one run in seven innings to earn his 11th win.

National League - August 24


Player of the Day: Greg Luzinski was 3 for 5 with a single, a double, a home run, and five RBI as the Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 7-3.

Pitcher of the Day: Jim Barr shut out the New York Mets 4-0 to improve his record to 13-14. Tom Seaver took the loss and is now 14-10.

Player of the Day: Greg Luzinski was 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBI as the Phillies beat the Montreal Expos 5-3.

Pitcher of the Day: John Montefusco shut out the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0. He allowed 4 hits and didn't walk anyone as the Giants finally climbed out of last place in the NL West.

Player of the Day: Greg Luzinski was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, 4 RBI, and 3 runs scored as the Phillies beat up on the Giants 11-4. Mike Schmidt also hit 2 homers in the game.

Pitcher of the Day: Don Carrithers pitched a one-hit gem against the Atlanta Braves. He struck out ten batters and walked none as the Expos beat the Braves 1-0.
