Player of the Day: Jim Rice went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI in Boston’s 9-5 win over the Oakland A’s.

Pitcher of the Day: Bert Blyleven shut out the Cleveland Indians for 10 innings and earned the 1-0 win in game one of a doubleheader.

Player of the Day: Jim Rice hit a 3-run homer in Boston’s 4-3 win over the New York Yankees.

Pitcher of the Day: Dave Lemanczyk pitched 7.2 innings and allowed one run as the Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 3-1.

In the bottom of the 9th Rod Carew walked and advanced to second on Butch Wynegar's single. Carew stole third and scored on an errant throw to win the game for the Twins.

American League - July 15

Player of the Day: Jim Rice and Fred Lynn both went 4 for 6 and propelled the Boston Red Sox to a come from behind 10-9 victory. The Red Sox were behind 8-3, but Lynn doubled three times to help Boston climb back into the game. Rice’s 2-run homer in the top of the 8th inning tied the game.

Pitcher of the Day: Jim Palmer tossed a 4-hit shutout and won his 15th game as the Orioles beat the California Angels 3-0.
