National League - September 15


Player of the Day: Bobby Murcer homered twice and had four RBI against a very tough left-hander (Randy  Jones). It wasn’t enough as the Padres beat the Giants 9-6.

Pitcher of the Day: Mickey Lolich had a complete game 4-2 victory in the first game of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals.

National League - July 29


Player of the Day: Joe Morgan went 3 for 5 with a home run, 5 RBI, 4 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases as the Reds pummeled the San Diego Padres 10-1.

Pitcher of the Day: Mickey Lolich pitched a complete game as the Mets beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1. Lolich allowed one run on six hits and struck out eight batters.

Player of the Day: Ed Herrmann was 4 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI as Houston beat Montreal 11-1.

Pitcher of the Day: Mickey Lolich shut the Atlanta Braves out 1-0. He allowed three hits and five walks and struck out nine batters. Carl Morton took the hard-luck loss -- the run he allowed was unearned.

Pitcher of the Day: Mickey Lolich pitched 8 2/3 innings and allowed one run in the Mets' 6-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
