National League - September 17

Player of the Day: Pete Rose was 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI. Rose hit a 2-run triple in the bottom of the 8^th inning to key a comeback win by the Reds.

Pitcher of the Day: Pedro Borbon pitched two scoreless innings and earned the victory as the Reds beat the San Francisco Giants. Borbon has a record of 18-6 – pretty amazing for a middle reliever!

The Braves were down 8-0 after two innings and managed to come back and win the game

American League - September 17

Player of the Day: Jack Brohamer hit two home runs and had three RBI to help the White Sox to a 6-1 win over the first place Kansas City Royals.

Pitcher of the Day: Gaylord Perry (17-9) allowed three runs on five hits in his win over the Oakland A’s.
