Pitcher of the Day: Bert Blyleven allowed three runs in eight innings and won his 18th game.

Player of  the Day: Don Baylor hit three solo  home runs to help the A’s to a 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers

Pitcher of the Day: Mike Flanagan allowed one run  on four hits in a complete game effort to earn an win against the Cleveland Indians.

Player of the Day: Tony Solaita hit two home runs and had five RBI in California’s 7-3 win over Minnesota.


Pitcher of the Day: Vida Blue and Jim Palmer each pitched complete games and upped their win totals to 23. It will be a tight race for the AL Cy Young Award.
