Player of the Day: Larry Hisle went 3 for 4 with a home run and three stolen bases in Minnesota’s 5-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians

Pitcher of the Day: Jim Palmer had a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers going into the 9^th inning. Mike Hargrove singled with one out in the 9^th to break up the no-hitter. Palmer ended up with a one-hit shutout to improve his record to 19-11.

Player of the Day: Reggie Jackson hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 7^th and singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 9^th as Baltimore beat the Oakland A’s 5-4.

Pitcher of the Day: Pete Redfern allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings and the Twins held on to beat the New York Yankees 5-3. Redfern improved his record to 3-12.

Pitcher of the Day: Mike Torrez allowed one run in eight innings in the A’s win over the Orioles.

American League - Week 19 Recap

• The Cleveland Indians have lost six straight games to fall to 5.5 games behind the New York Yankees in the AL East. Buddy Bell and Boog Powell have both been in nasty slumps.
• Jim Palmer has three complete game victories in a row and now leads the AL with 18 wins.
• Coggins and Waterbury don't lead the league in any pitching categories. Something got hosed in the stat compiler. I'm hoping it hangs in there long enough for me to finish the replay.
