Crazy day -- The Giants and Expos played a 16-inning game. The Cincinnati Reds scored five runs in the top of the 9th inning to take a 8-3 lead over the Chicago Cubs only to have the Cubs score six runs in the bottom of the inning to win it 9-8.
Player of the Day: Dave Parker was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI in Pittsburgh's 4-3 win over Atlanta.
Pitcher of the Day: Bob Forsch pitched a complete game 10-1 victory over the Houston Astros.

Fred Norman had a 1-hit shutout going when it all unraveled in the 9th inning. Norman ended up allowing four runs, all unearned.
