April 27 (Baltimore, MD) Nolan Ryan was cruising along with a 4-1 lead and a no-hitter entering the 9th inning. Tommy Harper walked and then Paul Blair hit a solid single to right to break up the no-no. Ryan set down the next three Oriole hitters to get his first victory of the season. He struck out 13 batters and the only run he allowed was on a walk, stolen base, groundout, and sacrifice fly.
