Player of the Day: Del Unser hit a 3-run homer with two out in the bottom of the 9th inning off of Will McEnaney to propel the Mets to a come from behind 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Fred Norman had a 1-hit shutout going when it all unraveled in the 9th inning. Norman ended up allowing four runs, all unearned.
Pitcher of the Day: Jim Lonborg went 8 innings and allowed 1 run in the Phillies 7-1 win over the Houston Astros
