Ed Figueroa no-hits Red Sox!


Ed Figueroa struck out five batters and walked five batters, but he allowed no hits and no runs in the 5-0 Yankee win. It was the second no-hitter of the season. Figueroa leadds the AL in wins (16) and ERA (1.92). He has won his last three starts -- each one was a complete-game shutout.

Dick Ruthven Pitches First NL No-Hitter


Dick Ruthven of the Atlanta Braves pitched the NL's first no-hitter on May 5 against the St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed only one walk (Don kessenger with one out in the 6th) and struck out six batters.

Luis Tiant Pitches a No-Hitter




Luis Tiant no-hit the Oakland A's today. He walked three Athletics and had one error made behind him, but he cruised to a 5-0 victory that improved his record to 7-4.
