American League - July 24


Player of the Day: Claudell Washington hit a 3-run homer and walked to force in the winning run in Oakland’s 5-4 10-inning victory over the Kansas City Royals.



Pitcher of the Day: Ed Figueroa pitched a no-hitter against the Boston Red Sox. Ed walked five and struck out five as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 5-0. Figueroa is 3-0 in his last three starts. He completed all three games and has allowed no runs. Figueroa lead the AL with 16 wins and a 1.96 ERA.
