Pitcher of the Day: Gene Garber pitched three perfect innings and struck out six Cincinnati batters to save the game for Philadelphia Phillies starter Jim Lonborg. Honorable mention for pitcher of the day goes to Tom Seaver, who pitched a complete game victory to become the NL’s first 10-game winner.
