American League - July 12

  • Kansas City has passed Oakland for the AL West lead. The A's are in a tailspin while the Royals are playing their best ball of the year. The Kansas City pitching is still shaky but the offense is starting to click.
  • The biggest mover in the AL East is the Baltimore Orioles, picking up 1.5 games during the week. They lead the league in home runs and they're getting excellent starting pitching. Jim Palmer is having another Cy Young year. Cleveland is still the biggest surprise in the league. The Indians picked up a game in the standings this week. They're only two games behind the New York Yankees at the All Star Break.
  • Something happened to the stats in the NL so I'm going to restart it from scratch. Once the NL reaches the All Star Break, the All Star game will be played and we'll get back to the alternating weeks format. Since the NL is being restarted, all previous entries relating to the NL will be deleted. :(
