Player of the Day: George Foster tied the game 7-7 when he hit a pinch 2-run homer in the inning of a game the Reds eventually won 9-8.
Pitcher of the Day: Dave Freisleben allowed only two hits and one run in a complete-game 10-inning victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning.
