Player of the Day: Ken Griffey was 5 for 6 with 2 runs scored in the Reds' 9-0 win over the Montreal Expos.

Pitcher of the Day: Pedro Borbon got a spot start and shut out the Montreal Expos 9-0. He allowed nine hits, struck out eight, and didn't give up any walks.

  1. The Mets are in first?? It's a miracle!! Just checked and saw they finished ten games above .500 that year, so this isn't totally strange.
