1976 National League - Week 11 in Review

There hasn't been much movement in the standings. The Dodgers lost a few games at the end of last week and the beginning of this week to drop back a few games, but a good series against the lowly Montreal Expos coupled with a 3-game sweep of the Reds by the Philadelphia Phillies allowed the Dodgers to climb within 9 1/2 games of the lead. The New York Mets continue to play well and maintain a 3 1/2 game lead over the Phillies. Jose Cruz has now hit in 20 straight games -- so far Pete Rose has the longest hitting streak (25 games) of the year.

Ed Kranepool has been red hot (.480 average) over the last ten days and is now third in the NL in batting average. Willie McCovey makes his second straight appearance on the "not hot" list.
