National League - June 14

Batter of the Day: Bill Madlock was 3 for 4 with 2 HR and 3 RBI as the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-2. When Madlock came up for the first time I thought to myself, "Bill is a bit behind his home run pace." BAM! Bill homered to left. Madlock now has five home runs after a little more than 1/3 of the season. He had 15 in real life, so he is probably one home run behind schedule.

Pitcher of the Day: Joe Coleman and Bruce Sutter combined on the 7-2 Cubs' win. Coleman pitched the first seven innings and allowed two runs. Sutter pitched the 8th and 9th innings to earn his 5th save of the year.
