National League - August 28


Player of the Day: Jon Milner homered in the bottom of the 6th inning. It was the only run in the Mets’ 1-0 victory over the LA Dodgers. The win allowed the Mets to stay 6 ½ games ahead of the hot Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East.

Pitcher of the Day: Jon Matlack struck out six batters, allowed five hits, and didn’t walk anyone as he shut out the Dodgers 1-0. Matlack now has a record of 13-8.
